This bulletin should have arrived at your home approximately December 6. You will find an article written by International President Cathy P. Daugherty about her vision for 2018-2020, news about DKG NEWS (to be published six times a year), viewpoints, personal reflections, classroom practices/programs, and a great article on page 50 entitled “Great TEAMS Run GREAT Meetings,” which includes three tips for Best DKG Practices that can help local chapters improve meetings and efficiency.
CHAPTER BROCHURE
Theta’s chapter brochure was submitted to the state by December 1, as required. After the 2019 updates are completed and approved by the chapter, the new brochures will be printed and distributed as needed.
ROSE OF RECOGNITION
The Rose of Recognition Committee consists of the last three recipients of the honor (2018 Louise, 2017 Lori, 2016 Janice). The person who received the award three years ago will become chairperson this year.
Members may nominate a sister by contacting one of the committee members with a name and reason for nomination. The committee will consider all nominations and select one. The chair or her designee will write a letter honoring this person which will be read aloud at the state convention. Copies must be sent to Pat Geoppinger by February 15 and a courtesy copy given to the Theta Communications Chair for inclusion with the next chapter newsletter. A few years ago, it was a chapter decision to notify the honoree rather than surprise her at the convention. Most members felt she would rather know in advance if she were selected. CARJACKING
Whether faced with a carjacking, kidnapping, physical abuse, etc., these few hints might be helpful to keep in mind.
