Ardynne Sprinkle joined Theta Chapter in 2006. She had retired from her position as Director of the Gifted and Talented (GT) Program in the Washoe County School District. One of her favorite activities was organizing and participating in the WCSD annual Academic Olympics, grades 9-12, where school teams competed on everything from history to math to pop culture to current events. Ardynne has also been an active participant in Nevada Humanities Young Chautauqua (ages 8-18), where students research, rehearse, perform, and provide their own costumes. One of her grandsons honored us with one of his performances a few years ago. Since joining Theta Chapter, she has been instrumental in setting up programs to keep our chapter informed on legislative issues and arranging (prior to elections) for political candidates or a panel of political candidates to make presentations during our meetings. She is a strong advocate for inviting other chapters to join us for opportunities that will benefit other sisters too. As she has pointed out, guest speakers like an audience – bigger is often better.
Ardynne served two terms as Theta President (2012-14 and 2014-16). Currently, Ardynne is Chair of Theta’s Mini Grant Program that awards up to $500 to any Washoe County School District employee, classified or certified, who seeks assistance for an activity that will directly benefit students. Ardynne is very creative in suggesting chapter programs and always willing to host or co-host monthly meetings. Ardynne is indeed a treasure to our chapter. We all love you, Ardynne. Congratulations! QUOTE FOR TODAY
“It’s time to scratch the notion that mothers are always kind, understanding, patient and wise. Persistence and grit should be given their due weight as maternal virtues!”
