Welcome to Theta Chapter

​Chartered October 18, 1963

Theta Chapter serves the Reno and Sparks communities of Nevada.  We are nestled in the valleys east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and easily accessible from our major north/south highway, Route 395, or from our major east/west highway, Route I-80.  Reno and Sparks are well known for their entertainment, outdoor sports/activities, and super special themed events throughout the year.

Mission Statement

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

​Purposes

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has seven basic purposes which govern its program of work and study:

• To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual friendship.
•  To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education.
•  To advance the professional interest and position of women in education.
•  To initiate, endorse, and support desirable legislation in the interest of education and of women educators.
•  To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to women educators from other countries.
•  To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of work.
•  To inform the membership of current economic, social, political, and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society.
