Mission Statement
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Article I - Membership
The membership of Theta Chapter shall be composed of active, collegiate, reserve, and honorary members in accordance with the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International CONSTITUTION and the BYLAWS of Alpha Chi State.
A. Attendance - Each member shall attend at least four (4) meetings each year. These may include luncheons, conventions, or regular meetings. In the event of serious illness or other special circumstances, a member may request an exemption from this policy. It shall be the responsibility of the member to notify the president or hostess prior to the meeting if she is unable to attend.
B. Resignations - All resignations should be presented to the chapter for action and be recorded in the minutes.
The date and reason for the resignation should be noted in the minutes.
C. Membership begins when dues are paid. A member who has dropped for any reason may be reinstated as a member by paying dues for the current year.

Article II - Officers and Related Personnel
A. Theta chapter shall elect the following officers: a president, a vice president, a recording secretary. A second vice president and a corresponding secretary may also be elected by the chapter. The position of chapter treasurer will be selected and appointed by the Executive Board.
B. A parliamentarian shall be appointed by the president.
C. Duties of the officers must comply with the INTERNATIONAL CONSTITUTION and the STATE BYLAWS.
D. The Executive Board shall consist of the elected officers and the immediate past chapter president. The treasurer and the parliamentarian will serve as ex officio members without vote

Article III - Annual dues and fees
A. Member dues are payable to the chapter treasurer and are due by June 1st of each calendar year.

Initiation Fees: $10 – one time only to set up initial DKG records at local, state, and international levels and $10 for DKG Pin and Badge – one time only
B. Chapter dues and assessments are determined and set by a majority vote of the members.
C. Members with 50 years or more service in DKG will be exempt from dues. As a token of appreciation, the chapter will pay the Reserve Fees and the member will maintain all the benefits of full membership.

Article IV - Committees
A. Chairperson of the Nominations committee shall be elected.
B. Other committee chairpersons may be appointed by the president.
C. Committee members may be appointed by the president or chosen by the committee chairperson.

Article V - Meetings
A. Monthly meetings will be scheduled from September through May of each calendar year. Association luncheons, special events or programs, and the annual state convention will be considered as fulfilling this requirement.
B. Other meetings may be called by the Executive Board.
C. A quorum for chapter business shall be 50% of active chapter members at a regular business meeting.

A. The chapter shall pay the president’s expenses for attendance at workshops, conferences, and conventions advised, provided, or required by DKG as recommended by the chapter finance committee and approved by the Executive Board.
A. The past three recipients of the ROSE OF RECOGNITION will select a chapter member to receive the ROSE OF RECOGNITION award at the annual State Convention.

B. A two-thirds vote of members present at a meeting is needed to amend an existing chapter rule.
C. Conduct of meetings shall be governed by the current edition of ROBERT’S RULES OF ORDER NEWLY REVISED.
D. Chapter rules must be consistent with the Constitution of DELTA KAPPA GAMMA INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY and the bylaws of Alpha Chi (Nevada) State, adopted: February 7, 1985 and amended September 11, 1986, March 6, 1992, September 12, 1992, June 6, 1998, September 7, 2002, April 12, 2021
